SPAIN GUIDES · JÁVEA / XÀBIA & DÉNIA

Buying a Used Boat in Jávea / Xàbia

A local shortlist starts with where you will keep and use the boat.

Our current base is Ireland. We are developing our Spain presence. Local on-water services are not yet available to book. These guides help you prepare questions; boat-specific legal, tax and registration advice comes from the appropriate specialist.

Confirm the berth before the boat

For a Jávea purchase, speak directly to the intended berth or storage operator. Confirm dimensions, availability, access, included services and annual costs in writing.

Check the boat against your intended days out

Think about boarding, shade, swimming access, storage and how you will handle a return to the berth with your usual crew. View the boat with those routines in mind.

Treat berth claims as a separate enquiry

If an advert includes a berth, ask the operator whether it transfers, when it expires and what the new owner must pay. Do not assume the seller can promise your future berth.

Make the viewing useful

Ask for engine hours, service records, registration documents and a list of defects before travelling. Arrange permission for photography and an independent inspection.

Tell Us What You Are Planning

Share your location, budget and plans. We will explain what assistance is currently possible and record interest in future Spanish services.
