Powerboat Training Ireland
Boat training built around your next step.
Whether you want to refine your handling, understand a new boat or work towards a qualification, the right training begins with what you want to achieve.
Maritime Expert provides practical tuition and powerboat training from an Ireland base at Hodson Bay on Lough Ree. Own-boat sessions elsewhere in Ireland are considered by arrangement, with location, vessel suitability and travel agreed before booking.
Choose the support you need
Start with your boat and your plans
For an existing owner, useful training often means practising the situations that occur every time you go afloat: leaving your berth, handling in wind and current, anchoring, using the electronics and working with your crew. Own-boat tuition focuses on those priorities aboard the vessel you use.
For a new owner, a handover session connects systems familiarisation to practical handling. We explain the everyday routines, then put them into practice on the water where appropriate.
Choose the appropriate qualification route
If your goal is a National Powerboat Certificate or ICC, tell us about your experience and intended use. We can then explain the appropriate training or assessment route, including prerequisites and what is required for successful completion.
Certification depends on meeting the relevant requirements. We confirm the training or assessment route before booking, including any conditions relating to your intended use.
How a session is arranged
Tell us the boat or qualification involved, your experience, location and preferred dates. We recommend a suitable session or course, agree the practical arrangements and provide a quotation before you book. Where you supply the vessel, we also confirm its suitability and the equipment needed.
